Preventative vs. Corrective
The biggest difference between BB creams and CC creams is how they work for your skin. BBs are well known for the fact that they protect your skin from sun, combat anti-aging, and even help prevent breakouts. They are all about stopping damage before it happens. On the other hand, CC creams help fix problems that have already showed up. These new miracle creams help to correct dark spots, clear acne, and brighten dull skin. They still offer the SPF protection and moisturizing coverage like BB creams do, but they’ve added a little extra kick for skin perfection.

Color and Coverage
CC creams come in approximately the same shades that BB creams traditionally come in, but they offer a little more ability for balance. Because CC creams are lighter in texture, they can be applied to very fair or very dark skin and blend in better. BB creams also tend to be oilier in texture vs. the lighter CC creams. Both act as a sheer covering primer for you to match your makeup to.
